Kratek opis publikacije

Introduces the Slovenia on 176 pages.
Includes 840 photos and 27 quality maps.
In Slovenian and six other world languages.
There is just a short pop from snow-capped mountains and glacial lakes in the Alps to evergreen olive plantations at the coast. And a drive to wine growing hills, golden wheat-fields or mysterious karst caves will not take us more than an hour, either. The country with its picturesqueness and diversity is just tempting us to stop and indulge in its treasures.

Where is Slovenia and what is it like?
Location: Slovenia is a Central European state.
Area: 20,273 km2
The length of its borders: with Austria 330 km, Italy 232 km, Hungary 102  km and Croatia 670 km; a total of 1,334 km.
Coastline: 46.6 km
The highest mountain: Triglav – 2,864 m
Waters: Slovenia is rich in waters. The total length of its watercourses, rivers, constant and torrent feeder streams is 26,600 km. Its total amount of fluvial water per capita makes Slovenia one of the richest European countries as it exceeds the European average by almost four times.
The average height above the sea level: 556.8 m
The area of forests: 10,124 km2

What is the difference between Slovenia,
Slovakia and Slavonia?
People often get these three countries mixed up due to their similar names and their position in Central Europe. However, Slovenia and Slovakia are independent countries and Slavonia is a region in the northeast of Croatia.
Those not used to Slavic languages can easily confuse them as the Slovene, Croatian (spoken in Slavonia) and Slovak languages are, though very similar in sound, quite different in meaning.
